Still numb...

Well, I don't think reality has really hit me yet... I'm still in a daze and I suppose I will be for some time yet. Hopefully the sorrow and sadness will only come out in small bursts and not be too paralyzing. Right now, I think I'm sort of numb. And I suppose that's a blessing, in some ways...

The cards, messages, comments, food and notes I have received since Tony's passing have been quite overwhelming. Tony was not only a great father and husband, he was also a great son, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, friend, neighbour, coach, co-worker, employee,... And what's so wonderful, is that I'm not the only who thought so... It was no secret; he was just a wonderful man.
Accepting and living with the fact that he is no longer here, will take some time... And while I will keep posting on the blog, for now, my postings will more than likely be more sporatic. I hope you will understand and keep in touch.

Happy Canada Day! And, take good care!

Renée

God looked around his garden
and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
And saw Tony’s tired face.

He put His arms around him,
And lifted him to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.

He knew he was suffering,
He knew that he was in pain.
He knew that he would never
Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed his weary eyelids,
And whispered, "Peace be thine."

It broke our hearts to lose him,
But he didn't go alone,
For part of us went with him,
The day God called him home.

Dearest Renée,

Our hearts go out to you.

Take good care of yourself and your boys.

We will all draw strength and hope not only from Tony's example, but also from yours Renee.
What you have all been through is unbelievable.
May God bless and keep you.

One doesn't know what to say... nothing said could make it all better. I wish that the support you gave me though my battle with the dragon is returned to you in strength in this difficult time. I love you my friend.
